Bozeman Health Awards $20,000 Partners in Health Grant to Family Promise of Gallatin Valley

This year’s grant will support the “Family Housing is Healthcare” initiative

Bozeman, MT (September 30, 2025)— Bozeman Health and Family Promise of Gallatin Valley are proud to announce a new partnership through the 2025 Partners in Health grant program. Family Promise has been awarded $20,000 to support their Family Housing is Healthcare initiative, a collaborative initiative aimed at improving health outcomes for families experiencing homelessness and housing instability in Gallatin County.

Family Promise is the only organization in the region solely dedicated to serving families with children who are navigating homelessness. Their comprehensive services include emergency shelter, prevention services, transitional and workforce housing, early childhood education, and long-term stabilization programs. In 2024, the organization supported more than 1,125 individuals—including 645 children—through housing and wraparound services that promote long-term wellness and family stability.

This partnership aligns with Bozeman Health’s mission to improve community health and quality of life by addressing social determinants of health. The 2023 Community Health Needs Assessment identified housing under “Socioeconomic and Health Measures”, as a key focus area for advancing health equity in the region.

“This collaboration reflects our shared belief that housing is foundational to health,” said Dr. Kathryn Bertany, CEO of Bozeman Health. “By supporting Family Promise’s proven multifaceted approach to improve access to housing, we are investing in long-term community wellness and helping reduce barriers to care for some of Gallatin County’s most vulnerable families.”

The grant will fund critical services for families enrolled in Family Promise programs, including case management, transportation, essential needs, mental health support and access to health care services.

“At Family Promise, we know that housing is health. This partnership with Bozeman Health strengthens our shared commitment to addressing the root causes of instability and ensuring families with children have the foundation they need to thrive,” said Robin Mayer, Development Director at Family Promise. “Together, we are advancing health equity by recognizing that safehousing, early education, and wraparound supports are not only essential for long-term family stability, but also for the overall wellness of our community.”

Bozeman Health and Family Promise of Gallatin Valley remain committed to building a healthier, more equitable community — one where every child and family has a stable home, access to care and the opportunity to succeed.
