Bozeman Health Introduces Walk-in Services for Mental Health Needs

Same-day Psychiatric Services, no appointment required

Bozeman Health is proud to announce that adult walk-in Psychiatric Services are now being offered at the outpatient Psychiatric Services Clinic at Bozeman Health Deaconess Regional Medical Center (DRMC).

These services are a pilot program aimed at increasing access to Psychiatric Services needed locally and to determine if this care model will fit the community’s needs in the long term. Individuals can walk in and see a psychiatrist without an appointment as a means to establish outpatient care.

“Walk-in Psychiatric Services addresses a critical gap in our community. Far too many individuals face barriers to accessing timely mental health care, and this service offers a lifeline for those in urgent need,” says Heather Grenier, HRDC president and CEO. “At HRDC, we see firsthand how vital immediate support is, and this new service ensures more people will get the help they need, when they need it most.”

At the walk-in clinic, patients can be evaluated by a psychiatrist and receive resources, evaluation, and support. Navigator services will also help schedule services such as outpatient psychiatry or counseling, primary care and aid with connecting to resources.

“We encourage individuals to utilize this walk-in service for support for conditions like depression, anxiety, stress, grief or mood disturbances,” says psychiatrist and inpatient psychiatric services medical director, Dr. Landon Van Dell. “We can then coordinate and walk you through next steps for continued treatment.” Dr. Van Dell, along with psychiatrists Drs. Jenny Combs and Eric Noel joined the Bozeman Health Psychiatric Services Team last month and will provide walk-in care.

Bozeman Health is committed to whole-person wellness and recognizes the need for continued support of the regional psychiatric services care continuum. No single organization can sustain all of the psychiatric services that our community needs and we are dedicated to collaborating with partners to implement sustainable services. Bozeman Health is an active member of the Gallatin Behavioral Health Coalition and is grateful for the partnership of all regional care and service providers who are committed to strengthening the continuum as a community.

For emergency crisis services, the community is encouraged to continue to utilize PES services located adjacent to the DRMC emergency department.

Walk-in Services:
Available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at DRMC in the Purple Zone on the third floor, using Entrance 7.
