10TH ANNIVERSARY

10 YEARS IS JUST THE BEGINNING

Big Sky Medical Center

The first Montana hospital built new for a community in a generation, began as a vision for what local health care could be. Thanks to the stewardship of a dedicated and growing health care team, and the support of community partners, Big Sky Medical Center has continued to expand. Guided by community feedback, BSMC has added services to meet the needs of a rapidly growing region.

Philanthropy from committed community members has also been vital to this progress. And we’re not done yet. Looking ahead, we envision a thriving health care system with an even broader range of services, reducing the need for residents to travel outside of Big Sky.

A DREAM IS REALIZED

In 2013, Bozeman Health set out to bring essential health care services to Big Sky. Over the years, those services expanded to include cancer care, psychiatry services, physical therapy and other medical specialties. Several key milestones helped turn this vision into reality.

Bringing Cancer Care to Big Sky Medical Center

Every mile a newly diagnosed cancer patient must travel is time away from loved ones, comfort and rest.

Caring for Big Sky and the surrounding communities means bringing life-changing cancer care closer to home.

In 2024, Bozeman Health Cancer Center’s Dr. Mark Hancock began providing cancer care services at Big Sky Medical Center.

Newly diagnosed patients, as well as existing patients, can now see an oncologist locally.

This expanded access allows patients to:

For Big Sky residents, Dr. Hancock is also the first point of contact, helping patients navigate their cancer care journey.

Looking ahead, Bozeman Health remains committed to providing care at Big Sky Medical Center. We have also partnered with Big Sky Pharmacy to offer select infusion services, making treatment more accessible and convenient for our community.

For cancer patients in the Big Sky area, this means:

More time with loved ones

Increased access to high-quality cancer care

A dedicated cancer resource close to home

We are committed to continuing to expand access to mental health services in Big Sky.

Transitional Care - Recover Where You Belong

After a hospital stay, many patients face a difficult transition. They may be ready to leave the hospital, but not yet ready to return home.

For Big Sky residents, this often meant recovering far away, separated from family and the comfort of their community.

In 2024, Big Sky Medical Center launched a transitional care program so patients could heal close to home.

What began with four beds has now expanded to eight, allowing more patients to remain in their community during recovery.

Transitional Care Services Include:

Pediatrics - Healthy Children, Stronger Communities

In December 2024, Bozeman Health pediatrician Dr. Bill Allen began offering services at Big Sky Medical Center.

Beyond annual wellness exams and routine vaccinations, pediatricians provide expert guidance on nutrition, sleep, behavioral milestones, and emotional health.

When specialty care is needed, your pediatrician serves as a trusted advocate, coordinating referrals and ensure seamless, comprehensive care.

For families in Big Sky, this means:

By building a lasting relationship with a pediatrician, you’re giving your child the best foundation for a healthy future.
