Community Commitment
Bozeman Health is a proud member of the communities we serve. We’re happy to share some of the initiatives and programs that we currently participate in to help support our community and further our mission of improving community health and quality of life.
Community Initiatives
Land Stewardship
- We live our mission to support community health and quality of life by providing year-round public recreational access on our privately owned land across Highland Boulevard from Bozeman Health Deaconess Regional Medical Center, locally known as the Highland Glen, through partnerships with Gallatin Valley Land Trust and Bridger Ski Foundation.
- In our effort to sustain the land’s ecological health and ecosystem services, we work closely with a generational rancher who grazes cattle in the ranchlands and partner with Montana State University’s Foundation Seed Program to cultivate the three large farm fields. These agricultural leases support Montana’s agricultural heritage in the heart of burgeoning Bozeman and we endeavor to be a good neighbor in coordinating recreational, agricultural, and residential interests.
- Montana law requires property owners to control noxious weeds on their land to prevent them from spreading. We utilize a number of management strategies including grazing, mowing, hand-pulling, de-heading and bagging, and we employ a licensed contractor to ensure any necessary herbicide use is applied at the proper time for greatest impact. Our land management plan was created in partnership with MSU Extension and continues to incorporate input from a wide variety of stakeholders who enjoy this special area. It is reviewed and updated yearly.
Economic Impact
- Bozeman Health is the largest private employer in Gallatin County, directly supporting more than 2,800+ jobs locally.
- A cornerstone of a strong local economy, our thriving healthcare system gives existing residents and businesses looking to locate in Southwest Montana confidence that quality, accountable care will be available to their families and employees.
- As a not-for-profit integrated health system, we reinvest any net income into facilities, technology and healthcare services for our communities. We also provide medically necessary healthcare services for all patients, regardless of their financial ability to pay.
