Community Commitment

Bozeman Health is a proud member of the communities we serve. We’re happy to share some of the initiatives and programs that we currently participate in to help support our community and further our mission of improving community health and quality of life.

Community Initiatives

Land Stewardship

  • We live our mission to support community health and quality of life by providing year-round public recreational access on our privately owned land across Highland Boulevard from Bozeman Health Deaconess Regional Medical Center, locally known as the Highland Glen, through partnerships with Gallatin Valley Land Trust and Bridger Ski Foundation.
  • In our effort to sustain the land’s ecological health and ecosystem services, we work closely with a generational rancher who grazes cattle in the ranchlands and partner with Montana State University’s Foundation Seed Program to cultivate the three large farm fields. These agricultural leases support Montana’s agricultural heritage in the heart of burgeoning Bozeman and we endeavor to be a good neighbor in coordinating recreational, agricultural, and residential interests.
  • Montana law requires property owners to control noxious weeds on their land to prevent them from spreading. We utilize a number of management strategies including grazing, mowing, hand-pulling, de-heading and bagging, and we employ a licensed contractor to ensure any necessary herbicide use is applied at the proper time for greatest impact. Our land management plan was created in partnership with MSU Extension and continues to incorporate input from a wide variety of stakeholders who enjoy this special area. It is reviewed and updated yearly.

Economic Impact

  • Bozeman Health is the largest private employer in Gallatin County, directly supporting more than 2,800+ jobs locally.
  • A cornerstone of a strong local economy, our thriving healthcare system gives existing residents and businesses looking to locate in Southwest Montana confidence that quality, accountable care will be available to their families and employees.
  • As a not-for-profit integrated health system, we reinvest any net income into facilities, technology and healthcare services for our communities. We also provide medically necessary healthcare services for all patients, regardless of their financial ability to pay.

One Health Community Health Partners (CHP)
Our partnership with One Health Community Health Partners (CHP) is decades long in communities across Southwest Montana. Together, we provide access to more services closer to home for our patients.
Gallatin City-County Health Department
Improving community health is a team effort. We are honored to join our colleagues at the local health department in sponsoring health data surveys that we collaboratively use along with dozens of community partners to build and implement the Community Health Improvement Plan for Gallatin County.
Gallatin Valley Land Trust
Gallatin Valley Land Trust is a valuable partner in building and maintaining recreational trails throughout the Gallatin valley, including in Highland Glen and other outdoor spaces adjacent to Deaconess Regional Medical Center.
Greater Gallatin United Way (GGUW)
Bozeman Health partners with Greater Gallatin United Way to support the KidsLINK Afterschool program, which provides safe, accessible, and enriching afterschool care for children across our region. This collaboration helps working families, supports child development, and strengthens community resilience by ensuring that all kids have a safe place to learn and grow beyond the school day.

In partnership with Haven, Bozeman Health supports survivors of domestic violence through trauma-informed care and access to safe shelter and advocacy services. Together, we’re working to create a healthier, safer community by addressing the impacts of violence and supporting healing and recovery.
HRDC
Bozeman Health partners with the Human Resource Development Council (HRDC) to support medical respite care for individuals experiencing homelessness, providing a safe place to recover following hospital discharge. In addition, we collaborate to strengthen wraparound services that address housing, food security, transportation, and other social determinants of health, ensuring more comprehensive support for members of our community.
Montana State University - WWAMI
Providing top quality care by highly trained healthcare staff is a priority at Bozeman Health. To ensure quality health sciences education for future medical providers, we partner with Montana State University to offer clinical opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students to receive hands-on experience through internships, clerkships, practicums and professional mentoring. WWAMI is a program of the University of Washington School of Medicine. The participating states of Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana and Idaho—the first letter of each state—is where WWAMI gets its name.
Wellness in Action (WIA)

In partnership with Wellness in Action (WIA), Bozeman Health supports the expansion of community-based mental health and wellness programs in Big Sky. Together, we are working to increase access to behavioral health support and local resources that promote whole-person well-being.
