Biography:
Dr. Michael Gruber, MD, is a board-certified critical care and pulmonary medicine physician with more than 20 years of experience in complex inpatient care. Before joining Bozeman Health, he served in the Denver area as medical director of the intensive care unit at Sky Ridge Medical Center and as a clinical partner at Critical Care and Pulmonary Consultants, P.C. Dr. Gruber completed his medical degree with distinction at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, followed by internal medicine residency and chief residency at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in New Hampshire. He then pursued fellowship training in pulmonary and critical care medicine at the University of Colorado, where he also served in academic roles as an assistant professor and assistant fellowship director.
Throughout his career, Dr. Gruber has held several clinical leadership roles focused on elevating quality and safety in critical care environments. His board certifications include internal medicine, pulmonary disease, critical care medicine, and neurocritical care. He is an active member of the American College of Chest Physicians, American Thoracic Society and Society of Critical Care Medicine. An award-winning educator and published researcher, Dr. Gruber has presented nationally on topics ranging from sepsis and ARDS to genomics in lung health. He is recognized for his compassionate approach, collaborative leadership and commitment to evidence-based medicine.
Outside of clinical practice, Dr. Gruber enjoys chasing after his family and staying active. He enjoys outdoor activities including snowboarding, cycling, and hiking the local trails around Montana with his two dogs.
