Biography:
Born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, I obtained my medical degree from Universidad Central de Venezuela. I completed two years of postgraduate training, followed by an internship and residency in Internal Medicine. This was followed by three years of ICU training and teaching in the Internal Medicine Department at the Universidad Central de Venezuela Hospital Clínico Universitario.

I transitioned to the United States in 1997 and trained in medical oncology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine – Montefiore Hospital in the Bronx, NY. After this, I completed two years of Internal Medicine training in the U.S. at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City.

In 2012, I moved to Paducah, Kentucky, where I practiced medical oncology, developed a research program, and was part of VICCAN, associated with Vanderbilt University. Later in 2012, I moved to Appleton, Wisconsin, where I spent six years with Fox Valley Hematology Oncology in private practice, followed by hospital-based work at ThedaCare Oncology until June 2023.

I then moved to Bozeman, Montana with my wife and youngest daughter. We love the outdoors, kayaking, bicycling, and traveling.
