intensive Care Unit

Bozeman Health’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Deaconess Regional Medical Center is a 20-bed unit that provides intensive and intermediate care. The ICU features spacious rooms—about 300 square feet each—offering a comfortable environment for patients and their families. These larger rooms allow for better collaboration among medical staff and accommodate necessary equipment. The unit also encourages family involvement with flexible, often unlimited, visiting hours to support patient recovery.

The Intensive Care Unit

Patients requiring intensive care and intermediate care are admitted to the ICU. We strive to make each patient’s stay a positive experience by providing quality and comprehensive care. We care for medical and surgical adult and pediatric patients who require frequent monitoring. Recurrent assessments, medication adjustments, and other necessary evaluations should be expected.

Our team of doctors and nurses collaborate with other departments and specialties to provide patients with safe, effective, and coordinated care in the ICU, throughout the patient’s time here at the hospital, and after discharge.

Visiting Guidelines

We welcome family and visitors in the unit and value your participation in the patient’s recovery. The ICU has unlimited visiting hours. At times family and visitor hours may be limited to allow for patient safety or for privacy during shift change. Overnight boarding within a patient room is limited to one individual and is at the discretion of the patient care team.

Waiting Areas

We have three waiting areas associated with the ICU. There is a waiting area outside the main entrance to the ICU. Another waiting area can be found within the unit between ICU Room 11 and ICU Room 12. A small waiting area between ICU Room 9 and ICU Room 10 is reserved for family/staff consultation.
