Palliative Care is specialized medical care for people with serious medical conditions. Whatever the diagnosis, Palliative Care is focused on providing relief from the symptoms and stress of serious illness. It is appropriate at any age and any stage of a serious illness. Our providers work in partnership with your other doctors and providers. They provide advocacy and support for individual medical treatment wishes and assist in communicating with doctors, providers and families in navigating the healthcare system. The goal is to improve quality of life.

This type of care is focused on matching your medical care with your quality of life goals, providing you with relief from symptoms related to serious life-limiting illness, including pain and stress, and assisting in advance care planning. Palliative Care is provided by an interdisciplinary team of specialists who work with your medical team to provide an extra layer of support throughout your treatment. It is appropriate at any age and at any stage in a serious illness and can be provided concurrently with curative treatment.
Palliative Care consultation is available inpatient during a hospital stay at the request of your primary inpatient team. Palliative Care consultation and support is also available outpatient at the request of your Primary Care Provider or Specialist or upon discharge from the hospital.
