Pediatric Therapy
Our team of expert therapists focuses on evidence-based care for children and has extensive training in unique areas to better serve young people. We work as a team with children and their families in order to develop skills and independence. Occupational therapy enhances a child’s participation in everyday activities such as self-help skills, play, social skills, fine motor skills, coordination, sensory processing, cognition, strength and general development.
Physical therapy helps a child improve strength, flexibility, breathing, balance and coordination. Speech therapy treats communication challenges that cause children to have difficulty with verbal communication. It also treats issues such as chewing and swallowing, dislike of feeding, and play, language and social skills.
In addition to services listed above, programs we offer include:
- Adaptive equipment assessments and fittings
- Assistive technology assessment and recommendations
- Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) services
- Bowel and bladder management
- Feeding and swallowing treatment (issues from breastfeeding to dislike of feeding)
- Infant assessments
- Learning disability interventions
- Abnormal head shape (plagiocephaly) measurements and evaluations
- Breathing assessment and treatment
- Sensory processing
- Play therapy
- Visual-motor assessment and treatment
Physical Therapy
If you have pain or physical limitations after an illness or injury or want to prevent future injuries, physical therapy can help. Physical therapy uses exercises, manual techniques and specialized treatments to restore movement, reduce pain and improve physical function. Working closely with you and your other healthcare providers, our specialists will develop a treatment plan tailored to your specific needs.
Our Goal: To help you move better and feel stronger. We provide outpatient services for the following deficits or conditions:
- Balance
- Chronic Pain
- Concussion
- Lifestyle Medicine
- Osteoporosis
- Orthopedics / Musculoskeletal
- Neurologic (Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis, Stroke, etc.)
- Pelvic Health
- Post-Surgical Rehabilitation
- Vestibular Rehabilitation
Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy (OT) is treatment that helps you improve your ability to perform daily tasks. It can help you learn how to move through your environment or use different tools to participate in your activities safely. You might need OT after trauma or an injury. Some people do occupational therapy to manage symptoms from a chronic (long-term) condition or disability. Occupational therapy helps people live as self-sufficiently as possible. The occupation in occupational therapy doesn’t necessarily mean your ability to work or do your job — although some people do use occupational therapy to help them get back to work after an injury. Occupation is a general term providers use to mean any of the daily tasks you do.
- Neurological (Parkinson's, Multiple Sclerosis, Stroke, SCI, etc)
- Orthopedics/Musculoskeletal including Upper extremity chronic, acute, post-surgical, splinting
- Ergonomic Assessments
- Functional Capacity Evaluations
- Return-to-Work Assessments
- Driving Evaluations
- Home Safety Assessments
Pelvic Health
- Incontinence: You are not alone. This can happen in both women and men as a gradual loss of bladder or bowel control can occur directly related to muscle control and strength of the pelvic floor and related core muscles. An evaluation is available to assess tone, symmetry, sensation and strength. The primary goal of treatment is to increase function and quality of life for each patient.
- Pelvic Pain: There is relief. There are many causes of pelvic pain, which include pelvic floor weakness and related hip dysfunctions. These are easily treated by physical therapy. Stretching and flexibility exercises, patient education, biofeedback treatment, as well as manual therapy techniques are successful methods of relief.
- Osteoporosis: Physical therapy can offer exercise strength and flexibility instruction. Our goal is to promote improved posture, spinal stability, and increased bone density through exercise. Instruction in modified body mechanics will be offered to minimize your risk of injury during daily activities and recreation. If you have pain present, physical therapy treatment can minimize discomfort and offer you options for the self-management of pain.
- Post-Partum Care: Our post-partum care includes repetitive stress injuries, rib pain, rectus diastasis (separation of stomach muscles), carpal tunnel syndromes, shoulder impediment, and pain secondary to breastfeeding postures.
- Pregnancy Issues: We can help. Back, neck, hip, and pubic bone pain, as well as sciatica, rectus diastasis (separation of stomach muscles), leg cramps, foot pain, and tingling in the arms and legs does not have to be a normal part of pregnancy or post-partum. Physical therapists are able to assess and treat much of the pain and discomfort associated with pregnancy. With education early in pregnancy regarding posture, stretching and positioning, many of the symptoms can be significantly alleviated or prevented altogether. We can help you stay healthy and learn exercises safely through pregnancy and post-partum to increase spinal stability and prevent symptoms. We will work to make you comfortable through your pregnancy and afterward.
