Bozeman Health is proud to expand pediatric specialty services to now include pediatric hematology, led by Dr. Guy Young. It is a highly specialized area of medicine with less than 2,000 such physicians in the U.S., and only a few in the state. There were previously no pediatric hematologists in Southwest Montana, meaning that pediatric patients and their families had to travel to receive care for blood disorders and cancers.
The newly formed service line will be led by world-renowned pediatric hematologist, Dr. Guy Young, who will be seeing patients at the pediatric clinic at Bozeman Health Deaconess Regional Medical Center. Pediatric hematology involves diagnosing and treating blood disorders and cancers in children, teens and young adults.
“I have a deep desire to become a contributing member of the local community, and I am excited to start the pediatric hematology service line for Bozeman and the surrounding area,” Dr. Young shares.
In addition to pediatric hematology, in the last 18 months Bozeman Health has introduced new pediatric specialties including pediatric cardiology and pediatric orthopedics, to provide comprehensive care to the youngest members of our community. Pediatric specialty medicine at Bozeman Health has been made possible by generous philanthropic support through Bozeman Health Foundation, whose shared mission with Bozeman Health is to improve community health and quality of life for Southwest Montana.
