Biography:
Jason Himmel is an interventional radiologist with more than 15 years of experience performing minimally invasive procedures to diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions. He is board-certified in radiology and specializes in image-guided treatments that can often provide alternatives to traditional surgery with less pain, smaller incisions and shorter recovery times. Dr. Himmel earned his medical degree from the University of California San Diego School of Medicine and completed his residency in diagnostic radiology at Creighton University Medical Center. He then completed advanced fellowship training in interventional radiology at the University of Kansas Medical Center.

Throughout his career, Dr. Himmel has served in numerous clinical and leadership roles, including chairman of a hospital radiology department and chief of interventional radiology. He is passionate about expanding access to advanced, minimally invasive care and has volunteered internationally to help train the first generation of interventional radiologists in Tanzania. Outside of medicine, Dr. Himmel enjoys hiking, camping, backpacking, kayaking and spending time outdoors with his wife and three daughters. He also enjoys writing and exploring Montana’s mountains, rivers and trails.

Philosophy of Care:
“I believe the best care begins with listening. My goal is to understand each patient’s concerns, answer their questions and help them feel confident in their treatment options. I value building trusting relationships and partnering with patients to develop a care plan that aligns with their goals and lifestyle.

As an interventional radiologist, I am passionate about offering minimally invasive, evidence-based treatments that can often help patients recover more quickly and return to the activities they enjoy. I strive to provide compassionate, personalized care while ensuring patients and their families feel informed, supported and involved in every step of the decision-making process.”
