Biography:
Garland Wherry, DNP, is a cardiology provider at Bozeman Health with 10 years of nursing experience in both inpatient and outpatient care. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Auburn University and her Doctor of Nursing Practice in family practice from Montana State University. Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Garland spent five years caring for patients in the Bozeman Health Cardiology Clinic. Her background in cardiology gives her a deep understanding of the challenges patients and families may face when managing heart conditions.
Garland has a special interest in cardiology and preventive cardiology. She believes that helping patients understand their heart health and take an active role in their care can make a meaningful difference in their long-term health. Originally from the southern United States, Garland has made Montana her home. Outside of work, she enjoys running, skiing, knitting and spending time outdoors with her husband and their German Shorthaired Pointer.
Philosophy of Care:
“I believe the best care starts with a partnership between the patient and care team. My role is to listen, understand what matters most to each person and use the best available evidence to help guide their care. I want my patients to feel comfortable asking questions and confident in understanding their health and treatment options. Whether we are managing a heart condition or working to prevent one, I focus on practical steps that fit into each patient’s life and help them take an active role in their health. My goal is to provide compassionate, personalized care while helping patients feel informed, supported and empowered to make decisions about their heart health.”
