Abby Weight, NP, is a family nurse practitioner who provides comprehensive primary care for patients of all ages at Bozeman Health Family Medicine at Belgrade Clinic. She brings more than a decade of health care experience to her practice, including experience in emergency medicine, urgent care and family medicine. Abby earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Montana State University and her Master of Science in Nursing from Gonzaga University. Before becoming a nurse practitioner, she worked as a registered nurse in emergency departments in Bozeman and Billings, including serving as a clinical supervisor.
As a family nurse practitioner, Abby has cared for patients with a wide range of acute and chronic health needs. Her clinical experience includes preventive care, women’s health, wound care, minor procedures and joint injections. She is also trained in IUD insertion and removal and has experience caring for patients with migraine headaches.
Abby believes primary care is an important part of helping patients stay healthy and manage health concerns before they become bigger problems. She focuses on listening to her patients, explaining their options and developing practical treatment plans that fit their lives. A Montana native and Montana State University graduate, Abby enjoys spending time outdoors and giving back to her community. She has volunteered with Big Brothers Big Sisters and other community organizations.
Philosophy of Care
“I believe good health care starts with listening. Every patient brings a different history, set of experiences and goals to the exam room. I want my patients to feel heard, understand their health and feel comfortable asking questions. I work with patients to create practical plans that support their health and fit their lives. Whether we are managing a chronic condition, treating an illness or focusing on prevention, my goal is to be a trusted partner in my patients’ care.”
