Biography: Dr. Katie Truong is a cardiologist who provides comprehensive cardiovascular care with special interests in heart failure and women’s cardiovascular health. She earned her medical degree with great honor from Oregon Health & Science University and completed her internal medicine residency at UCLA, followed by a cardiovascular disease fellowship at the University of Washington. Dr. Truong brings a broad background in cardiovascular medicine, including experience caring for patients with advanced heart failure and left ventricular assist devices (LVADs). Her interest in cardiology is supported by a background in bioengineering and a strong commitment to research, medical education and improving outcomes for patients with heart disease.

She believes heart care should be both evidence-based and personal. Dr. Truong takes time to understand each patient’s values and goals, explain their options clearly and make decisions together. She is particularly passionate about helping women understand and address their unique cardiovascular health needs. Outside of medicine, Dr. Truong enjoys running, hiking, camping and exploring the outdoors with her wife, daughter and German Shepherd. She also enjoys trying new recipes and cheering for the Seattle Mariners.

Philosophy of Care:
“I believe good heart care starts with listening. Every patient brings their own experiences, priorities and goals to their health, and those should be part of the conversation when making decisions about treatment. I use the best available evidence while tailoring recommendations to what matters most to each individual. My goal is for patients to feel heard, respected and confident in their care, with a clear understanding of their heart health and the choices available to them.”
