Biography:
Kristen Hartzell, PA-C, provides comprehensive internal medicine care for adults, with a special interest in helping patients manage chronic conditions such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes. Kristen earned her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Arkansas before completing her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Missouri–Kansas City. Before joining Bozeman Health, she spent more than four years as a hospitalist physician assistant at a Level I trauma center, caring for adults with complex medical conditions and helping patients to safely transition from the hospital back to everyday life.

Her experience caring for patients with heart disease, diabetes, lung disease and other chronic illnesses has shaped her proactive approach to primary care. She believes that patient education, preventive care, and strong patient relationships help patients manage chronic conditions and improve their quality of life. Outside of work, Kristen enjoys spending time outdoors gardening, fishing and hiking. When she’s not outside, she loves baking and trying new recipes. She is excited to be closer to family in Montana, especially her niece and nephew in Ennis.

Philosophy of Care:
“My goal is to provide evidence-based care while building lasting relationships with my patients. I enjoy partnering with patients to manage chronic conditions, providing education.”
