Biography:
Emily Hurd, FNP, RN, CEN,
is a family nurse practitioner with more than 16 years of experience in emergency care, intensive care and perioperative nursing. She brings a broad clinical perspective to her role in the Bozeman Health Pre-Anesthesia Clinic, where she helps patients prepare for surgery and works closely with anesthesia and surgical teams to support personalized care and successful surgical experiences.

Emily began her health care career in her hometown of Billings, working in a variety of roles at Billings Clinic before becoming a registered nurse. She attended Montana State University, where she earned bachelor’s degrees in nursing, chemistry and molecular biology and went on to gain experience in intensive care, emergency medicine and perioperative care. Emily completed her Master of Science in Nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner degrees at Gonzaga University in 2024 and has most recently gained experience as an urgent care provider.

Emily believes preparing for surgery means caring for the whole person. She takes time to understand each patient’s health history, answer questions and provide education so that patients can feel informed and confident about their care. Her experience across multiple areas of health care allows her to recognize potential concerns and collaborate with the broader care team to help patients have a smooth surgical experience.

Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, skiing and exploring Montana with her husband and twin boys.

Philosophy of Care:
I believe in treating the whole person, fostering collaborative relationships, and empowering patients through education and shared decision-making. My goal is to deliver high-quality health care that supports wellness, prevention, and optimal health outcomes across diverse populations.
