Biography:

Dr. Kate Runkel is a board-certified physician specializing in geriatrics and internal medicine, with a passion for caring for older adults. She provides comprehensive primary care with a focus on helping patients maintain independence, quality of life and overall well-being.

Dr. Runkel has advanced training in geriatrics and extensive experience caring for adults with complex medical needs, dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, Lewy body dementia, and Parkinson’s disease. She is also excited to help patients optimize healthy aging. She is dedicated to understanding each patient’s goals and tailoring care plans to support what matters most to them.

She earned her medical degree from Oregon Health & Science University and completed her internal medicine residency and geriatric medicine fellowship at the University of Colorado. She has served as an assistant professor and leader in geriatric care, including directing a geriatric emergency department consult service and teaching future physicians.

Originally from Helena, Montana, Dr. Runkel is proud to return to her home state to provide specialized medical care to the community. Outside of work, she enjoys horseback riding, backpacking, skiing and spending time outdoors.
